Firestarter: Design Documentation - Monsters 26 Low level flying drone conditioned to terror and spooking. Looks like a steel ball with two thorns in front and a perforator between them. Attacks by gaining momentum and driving thorns into the victim. When moving at high speed loses maneuverability and can be dodged after some training. It loses orientation if hits the wall, bounces and starts spinning. Phantasm can go astray if hit when it accelerates, making it deviate from attack trajectory and hit the floor. It can be very dangerous if attacks in groups. Recommended tactics is to stick to the wall, dodge it and shoot it when it hits the floor with any weapon.

Welder

Upper level zombie. High temperature welding gas generating camera is implanted inside its chest. His attack range is limited to five meters, forcing him to get very close to a victim for attack. Very dangerous! It should be kept and destroyed at maximum distance. The monster is most vulnerable from the rear where gas containers are. Recommended weapon is minigun.

Raider

Medium level reptile-demon. It has strong pawns, short neck with a cartridge belt around it. It holds a short-barreled machine-gun in its left pawn, the right one is two times shorter and underdeveloped. Dangerous because of a high fire density, hence itís recommended to stay away from a several raidersí cross-fire. They avoid close combat trying to move away to a fire range. Some can even attack with a headhorn after acceleration. They can easily dodge rockets. Recommended weapon is minigun.

Tank

Upper level elite guard robot. Despite medium size it posses very strong armor and firepower. It is equipped with anti-homing and anti-flare missiles module. It has an extended viewing angle and hypersensitive motion detectors. This is known to be a fact that tanks can communicate and coordinate their actions. Tank is also equipped with a regeneration module. Some tanks are reported to bear force field generators able to reflect missiles. Most of them can shoot the flying missile down. Very dangerous! It should be destroyed with all the weapons available, trying to avoid using grenades. It is recommended to use the heavy modification hand turret. Tanks bear additional modules blocking some of the artifactsí powers like ďMind ControllerĒ, ďVampireĒ, and others.

Mimer

Minor demon used by predator demons as food. It doesnít attack and tries to pass out of sight. The only value of killing mimes is to earn experience points. Each killed mime provides the player with a good amount of EPs. If wounded starts screaming, giving out location of the human. Sometimes can distract monsters (more often demons) from attacking or following the human. Recommended weapon is an assault rifle.

Pterodron

Medium level robot moving with chassis resembling birdís claws. It uses electric discharer as a weapon that functions very much like the electric gun. It can shoot to kill from a great distance, though recharging takes a lot of time. Pterodronís intellect is primitive, thatís why it engages in combat once it sees the target. It is reported to have attacked other monsters. It has a medium reaction, and if a player strafes all the time, it can easily avoid the charge. The monster can dodge rockets and grenades, thatís why itís recommended to attack him with homing or super-speed missiles.

Gladiator

Zombie warrior with removed internals, with its head surgically stitched inside the abdomen. Itís armed with a special project heavy-caliber rifle. It is very dangerous because of long fire range and high accuracy. It prefers to attack from behind or from the sides and retreats for reloads. It is reported to be communicating with the monster of the same type. Recommended weapon are homing missiles.

Luster

This monster is a hemisphere with laser guns attached to the surface and two propellers attached to the top. Completely automated drone conditioned to destroy flying projectiles like missiles, grenades, plasma. It doesnít attack humans. It hangs above the floor at a fixed height and rotates with slow speed. Itís indirect danger lies within its capacity to knock down missiles and grenades. It can only be destroyed with a high fire rate weapon. Important! The drone is equipped with anti homing module. Recommended weapons are assault rifle, minigun. Other weapons are useless.

Executioner

Medium level anthropoid demon. Armed with staff topped with the throwing discus. By swaying his staff he gives an enormous spin to the discus and unleashes it in the peak of the trajectory. Enormous speed and ricochet make this monster very dangerous in closed rooms. In close combat it uses its staff as a halberd. Some individuals of this class are reported to posses a high rate of fire. Recommended weapon is electric gun.

Buzzer

Upper level demon. It breeds a colony of insects inside its chest and lets them loose when attacking. The monster is named after the special noise it produces when attacking an enemy. It is very dangerous because of the cloud of insects it produces. The colony is self-sustainable for some time and can be destroyed with thermal weapon only. Allegedly it can regenerate hit points. It prefers distant attacks to a close combat. The recommended weapons are plasma gun and thermal mines.

Butterfly

The upper level robot conditioned to wage combat under any conditions. It is armed with superspeed thermal missiles that are fired 5 at a time. It is dangerous for two reasons. It is equipped with a very effective fire prevention unit and is capable of following the enemy suit. It is assumed to be exchanging messages with the robots of the same class transmitting the targets coordinates. Recommended combat tactics is to use weapons with high rate of fire along with the flare missiles.

Bull

Medium level demon, symbiotic. Looks very much like a bull. Armed with four cassettes of uncontrolled missiles. As every genocide monster itís programmed to completely destroy the enemy. Pursues the enemy and searches for it once the visual is lost. The monsters tactics is to attack with missiles first and then hit with horns. Equipped with strong armor in front, the back is almost unprotected. Recommended tactics is to hide away for the missiles attack, and destroy with missiles from behind.

Beastmaster

Demon with an exclusive mission to search for an enemy and summon monsters. This monster is able to call demons and zombies. Some species can allegedly teleport monsters nearby the enemy and shrink the respawn delay. It moves fast trying to stay unseen. Upon visual contact with the enemy starts whispering strange sounds. Despite being directly harmless it is very dangerous. It should be destroyed as soon as spotted! The recommended weapon is the assault rifle. The monster is capable of dodging slow rockets and grenades.

Piranha

Reinforced modification of the guard robot, whose initial task was to patrol the territory and scare the trespassers away. The modified model has threefold powerful lasers capable of inflicting heavy injuries and even death. Special features are good sight, hearing sensors and very long fire range. Being a guard robot when loosing a vision of the target it will stop pursuing it. It has the following drawbacks: designed for slowly moving targets, has slow reaction and slow targeting. Recommended tactics is constant strafing with using flare rockets.

Ghoul

The lowest demon class monster, moves with the hind limbs, attacks with well-developed upper limbs. It has a perfect sight and a keen sense of smell. It is capable of night vision and footprints following. It is easily destroyed from a big distance. Can be dangerous in close combat or if attack in groups. Some have inborn teleportation ability. Recommended weapon is shotgun.

Dragon

Demon of the upper level. This is a monster with the body of dragon and bird's head. It wears a metal collar confining head rotation. Front claws, back paws and spine plates are reinforced with iron tips. When attacking the creature spits out two reagents forming napalm when mixed. It causes mortal injuries; thus, make sure you keep a good distance to the monster. The creature usually blocks narrow corridors and avoids open spaces. In melee combat it attacks with the front paws. It is reported some species are not affected with the flare rockets. Recommended weapons are high-explosive mines and mega-rockets.

Flamer

Zombie-like soldier with the flame thrower using aviation kerosene. His rear is very vulnerable for tanks with fuel are highly explosive. Can be very dangerous when being eliminated. He is reported to attack other monsters sometimes. Recommended tactics is attacking from the rear with a rapid-firing weapon.

Haymaker

Anthropoid demon of the medium level. He wears long coat with a hood covering his face. The coat's flaps contain sharp sickles. When attacking the creature generates the shock wave to disorient and knock down the victim. In melee combat he beheads the enemy with the sickles. Attention! Haymaker is capable to transmit the victim coordinates to all demons. Some species can move at a speed significantly above normal. The creatures are very dangerous! Despite weak injuries of the shock wave, disorienting of the victim allows other monsters to approach and engage in melee. Haymaker is reported to become invisible when turning his back.

Smoker

A very large zombie with arm-implanted impulse guns. Coolers integrated into the zombie organism produce smoke of smouldering insides - this is where the monster's name comes from. Guns function as follows - charge-shot-charge, i.e. it takes quite some time to target and produce a shot, which makes it easy to step back from the firing line. Though, the damage inflicted by impulse gun is very heavy, and this is aggravated by paralysing effect to cause the victim freeze motionless for some time. Gun shots go at recharge phase intervals. Recommended weapons are super-speed missiles and high-explosive mines, best tactics would be slow destruction and avoiding cross-fire.
